A Memorable Sunset

I find it amazing how a simple photo of a sunset can evoke memories of times gone past that bring such emotions. As I look at this photo, I see a white building with little to define it, I see the silhouette of trees and another structure. You probably can notice the same. Yes, the colours are nice, the clouds pop up on the different layers, and the contrasts are clear. I look at this and I can feel that I am still there.

But I see through my memories more. I see the red tiled roof and I know that the doors are green metal doors that are so common in that place. I know the tree on the left is an Arbutus Unedo. I know that to the right is a plum tree. Spotted on the property are trees bearing apples, oranges, lemons, olives and others. Dotted around the property are vines of grapes. This is an agricultural farm in the heart of so much culture.

The emotions from this photo are because this property I once called home. I cleared the land, harvested the fruit, and placed my mark on the people and the land. I have a piece of my heart and soul in the image of this photo. Thank you for sharing with me.
