Its the Little Things

I look back in my life. There are times when life has taken big turns. Sure, there is meeting someone, getting married, starting a family, buying a car, getting that job. All those things in my past that were expected to make up what was expected in life. But it is the sudden shift that changes the direction of life. There are tragedies that may be forced upon us. I am talking about death and taxes mostly.

But there are little decisions, not the compromising moral grey areas but going on a trip somewhere new, stopping to look at something that catches your attention, and before you can think twice, you make a little decision that sends your life where you have never been before. Often, it is the little decisions that define our lives, not the usual one.

But do we expect that? I only see it clearly in hind sight.
